Russia hosts BRICS summit in city of Kazan - Vladimir Putin, Chinese leader Xi Jinping, Indian president Narendra Modi, South African president Cyril Ramaphosa, as well as leaders of Brazil, Iran, Armenia, Egypt and Bolivia have confirmed their participation. The Kremlin also sent an invitation to Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, among others.

10:00 - German court rules on Rosneft's complaint over Schwedt stake sale - A Duesseldorf court rules on Rosneft's complaint against Shell's planned sale of a stake in Germany's PCK Schwedt refinery to British company Prax Group. Rosneft, stripped of control over Schwedt by the German government in 2022 as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, argues that under an agreement among Schwedt's ownership consortium existing shareholders have a right of first refusal. The court signaled a refusal of the complaint at a hearing in September.
