The Bank of England is expected to keep interest rates unchanged at 5% in September after cutting them last month from a 16-year high of 5.25%, as it takes a gradual approach to loosening monetary policy while some measures of underlying inflation pressures remain higher than in other advanced economies. Markets will also be looking to see if the MPC votes to continue to reduce its bond holdings at a pace of £100 billion a year.
