BASF holds capital markets day
BASF will hold a capital markets day at its headquarters to update on investment priorities across divisions and regions. It has said it would cut spending on a new production and recycling network for battery chemicals as demand for electric vehicles slows. The Ludwigshafen site, its largest by far, could also be in for more cutbacks.

H&M reports its third quarter report on Thursday amidst weakening demand and poor weather which could threatened its coveted full-year profit margin target further. The world's second-biggest listed fashion group warned in late June that it saw some costs such as FX and cotton prices to be greater headwinds than expected for H2, this has led to some analysts revising their estimates. Poor weather conditions also make things difficult, particularly combined with H&M's continued woes of being squeezed between the rock-bottom prices of Shein and Zara-owner Inditex's higher-end fashions.
